So there’s this brothel in Europe. Legit operation.
Every room has a panic button.
When staff in a room hit it, security has eight seconds to show up.
Not ten. Not fifteen. Eight.
They train for it. Run drills. Time the routes.
Because when things get uptight, eight seconds is the difference between safe and sorry.
Now here’s the weird bit—
That story made me think about writers. You and me.
Not because you’re in danger.
But because I know what it’s like to sit at your screen, heart pounding, and nothing's working.
Maybe like when you’ve written something you think is good.
Hell, maybe great.
You put it out there. And then… nothing.
No interest. No sales. And no idea what to do next.
This is your panic-button moment.
Press it and know help is only seconds away.
You’re the writer in the room.
The one with something to offer.
But it’s quiet. Too quiet.
You don’t need security rushing in. But you do need a rescue plan.
Here's mine. You can steal it.
Step one:
Mindset. Do something that gets a sale. Not something that “feels good” or “builds your brand.” Just something that gets one person to pay you. And then another. And another.
Step two:
Find a problem people are already complaining about—and solve it. Put it into a PDF. That’s it. No, really. That's it.
Step three:
Price it to move. Start at 99 cents if you have to. I launched Overlooked Puddles at $0.99. It’s now $27 and selling like hotcakes. If I’d started at $27, I might still be refreshing the screen and wondering what went wrong.
Step four:
Stay calm. You’re building something. Even brothels don’t get panic button presses every day. But when they do? They’re ready.
Same goes for you.
So if today’s one of those panic-button days—
Where the screen is quiet
The bank balance is lower than you like
And you’re this close to chucking the whole idea—
Here’s me saying: don’t.
Push the button.
How?
I made a ‘panic button’ something for moments like this.
It’s called the Free Puddles PDF.
It shows you how to get unstuck, get something out there, and get it sold.
This isn’t a funnel. Or a blueprint. Or a five-day challenge. It’s a PDF. About making PDFs. And it works.
